To install the Creative Phone Blaster 28.8 PnP in Windows NT 4.0
(PnP BIOS)
In a PnP BIOS system that is able to detect the PB card, the installation of the PB PnP is much easily.
Points to Note:
- There is no need to install the PNPISA.INF file.
- COMPort will be automatically added by WinNT4.0 (in the PORT icon in Control Panel) once you had installed the PB PnP.
- If you view the setting in the PORT icon, COMPort setting is set to "DEFAULT" I/O address and
"DEFAULT"" IRQ. You can view the COMPort used by checking under:
START\PROGRAMS\ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS\WINDOWS NT DIAGNOSTICS\RESOURCES
- Under RESOURCES, you should be able to see the IRQ setting for the "serial" and I/O Port setting for
"serial" (Unfortunately, this is not reliable if more than one COMPORT is installed since you can't tell
which IRQ the modem is using) Of course, you can change the "DEFAULT" setting in PORT icon to a setting
you can see
- Built-in IDE CD-ROM connector is also working in this case. (Check the CD-ROM setting at the same place
mentioned above). Default setting at I/O address 168H and IRQ 10.
- Next, install the modem driver at the Modem icon. Allow the system to auto-detect the modem at COM Port 3
(default setting for Phone Blaster cards).
