Stack Fault Or General Protection Fault When Starting ShareVision In Windows 3.X
Problem:
When starting the ShareVision software, one of the following error messages
occurs:
Stack Fault Error in module COMMENG.DLL
ShareVision caused a General Protection Fault in module SCLIB.DLL
Solution:
You may encounter one of the above error messages due to a lack of system
resources, although the Program Manager indicates sufficient memory to run the
ShareVision software.
To rectify this problem, please carry out the following procedures:
- Exit to DOS and check the amount of available memory. If conventional
memory is below 580K, you may need to optimize memory or remove TSRs to run
ShareVision.
- Restart Windows. During long Windows sessions, you may need to exit
Windows and restart to free system resources not released by programs when
they close.
- Remove any unneeded program groups or icons. (A large number of program
groups or icons can steal system resources.)
The above steps should free enough system resources to enable the ShareVision
software to start without error.
