Text Runs Off The Bottom Of The Screen In The Mac Version Of A Brief History Of Time

Problem:

The text on the pages of the on-line A Brief History of Time book runs off the bottom of the screen in A Brief History of Time.

Solution:

The text in the on-line A Brief History of Time book uses the Glide.fam font that was included with the CD. If this font is not in the font folder, the Macintosh will default to using the Geneva font to display the text. This font is larger than the Glide.fam font. Thus, the text runs off the bottom of the screen.

Please follow the following steps to install the Glide.fam font:

For users of System 7.1 or greater:

Open the "Put in System folder" on the Brief History of Time CD.
Drag and drop the Glide.fam font to the system folder on your startup disk.
Click "OK" on the "...Put 'Glide.fam' into the fonts folder" dialog box.
When A Brief History of Time is restarted, the text should display correctly. There is no need to restart the system.

For System 7.0 users only:

Open the System folder.
Double click on the System suitcase.
Open the "Put in System folder" on the Brief History of Time CD.
Drag and drop the Glide.fam font into the open system window.
Restart the Macintosh for these changes to take effect. When a A Brief History of Time is restarted, the text should display correctly.
