Creative Announces Three Highly Acclaimed Games to be Fully Supported by Creative's 3D Graphics Accelerator

- Battle Area Toshinden, Fatal Racing & Actua Soccer Offer Exceptional 3D Graphics for PC Gamers -

June 6, 1996 - Creative Labs, the leading provider of multimedia products for the PC, has announced that three leading games have been added to the growing list of 3D Blaster compatible titles. Battle Arena Toshinden from Playmates Interactive Entertainment, and Fatal Racing and Actua Soccer from Gremlin Interactive, were all developed using the Creative Graphics Library (CGL) platform to enable PC users to experience exceptional 3D quality on their PCs.

"We are seeing the entertainment market for PC hardware and software really beginning to heat up," said Kathy Klotz, senior industry analyst at Dataquest. "Creative is the market leader for PC 3D board shipments, and has a strong retail presence along with key 3D audio technology - this combination of factors allows Creative to deliver a winning PC entertainment solution for retailers and consumers."

"We are excited to include Playmates Interactive Entertainment and Gremlin Interactive among our top developers for 3D Blaster," added Chris Boyce, graphics brand manager for Creative Labs Europe. "Our goal of offering the best games on the most widely supported 3D platform available continues to be realised as new and exciting 3D games come to market that support our products."

Battle Arena Toshinden
Battle Arena Toshinden, touted as the number one game on the Sony PlayStation, is expected to be just as popular on the PC. In this head-to-head 3D polygon-based game, players select one of eight incredible fighters to participate in an underworld martial arts tournament held only once every few years. Each fighter has a unique fighting style and weapon, and the victor is hailed as the strongest, most invincible fighter in the world. PC users can play head-to-head across a LAN or via the Internet in super VGA mode.

Fatal Racing
Fatal Racing pushes drivers to the limit on a fast moving roadway that includes a unique set of stunts, loops and even corkscrews. With its virtual camera angles in True 3D and network option for up to 16 players, Fatal Racing provides the breakthrough realism necessary for serious racing game enthusiasts.

Actua Soccer
Acclaimed as one of the best soccer experience, short of actually playing, Actua Soccer uses the latest motion-capture technology to generate a virtual realistic sport simulation game. Actua Soccer includes player strategies such as windmills, headers, dives and more - all captured in 3D.

3D Blaster is a graphics display card with hardware-accelerated 3D rasterisation that brings workstation-level graphics performance to the PC at consumer pricing. Creative's 3D Blaster products are unique in their ability to draw perspective- correct, texture mapped images so that graphics do not warp, swim or shake in a distracting manner. 3D Blaster for VL-Bus systems is currently shipping and the version for PCI Bus systems will ship this summer. All the games support both VL Bus and PCI Bus versions.

More than 200 registered developers have pledged their support for 3D Blaster. 3D Blaster supports multiple 3D graphics APIs including Creative's own Creative Graphics Library (CGL) which is the ideal development platform for developers with legacy DOS-based applications. In addition, Creative supports Microsoft's Direct3D making it the most supported PC-based 3D accelerator on the market.
