More than 180 people attended the finals which featured very impressive entries and original compositions. Software applications used were MIDI Orchestrator Plus and Cakewalk Apprentice. The contestants were required to compose a 3 minute jingle or theme song for Creative, using Sound Blaster products.
The winner of the competition, Roger Basco, is a composer with nearly 11 years of experience. Roger personally owns and uses Sound Blaster products.
The show cum competition was co-hosted by Gino Padilla, a popular music and TV personality. The judges, all highly respected professional music composers and arrangers, lent prestige to the occasion and ensured the professionalism of the competition.
The final was held in conjunction with Lamco’s Dealers Convention night which culminated on Dec 01, 1995 at the ISLA Ballroom of SHANGRI-LA'S EDSA PLAZA Hotel. Entries came from nearby provinces as well as Metro Manila.
Since its inception, the club has attracted about 100 members, all keen to know more about computer music and Creative's Sound Blaster AWE32.
The objective of the Creative Computer Music Saloon is to promote computer music in China. The club is also an opportunity for music enthusiasts to share their experiences in computer music arrangement and composition. It also serves as an excellent forum for new computer music technology.
Membership is free. Members enjoy all kinds of benefits and privileges including music training, free tips on computer music and discounts, among others.
The launch of the Creative sponsored Music Club is an indication of the growing popularity of Creative’s Sound Blaster AWE32 in desktop music production in China.
The seminar started off with Mr Sun Jingwei, Product Manager Creative’s Chinese Subsidiary, introducing Creative's concept of Computer Music . The audience was subsequently treated to an interesting lecture on the topic and an electrifying performance by Kevin "Jungle", Creative's extremely talented music evangelist in China.
Kevin "Jungle" introduced the basics of Desktop Music to the audience and demonstrated how easily the Sound Blaster AWE32 could be used to produce music at the computer. A few professional singers added glamour to the occasion by singing Kevin's energetic composition, Crash.
The computer music seminar is Creative's second successful music seminar in China.
The program hosted by Kevin "Jungle", Creative's Chinese Evangelist, introduces listeners to the exciting world of computer music and how the Sound Blaster AWE32 makes a difference. It broadcasts Tuesdays from 1.10 pm - 1.40 pm, Beijing time. Surely a treat for all Chinese Music Enthusiasts!
The survey reported an increasing use of sound cards in companies. These companies use the Sound Blaster to bring sound to multimedia presentations as well as to CD-ROM applications.
This corporate survey clearly establishes the popularity of the Sound Blaster even in the corporate sector.

The total percentage of Sound Blaster series products that readers voted was a whopping 85.1% high. According to PC World Taiwan, no other card came close and that such an amazing result has never happened before in the magazine's Buyer's Choice poll.
The magazine also reported that ComputAbility Consumer Electronics captured the most votes as a reseller source of the AWE32.
The reputation of Sound Blaster 32 has been growing world wide since its introduction.
Creative Tech Korea / JCHYun was also commended for excellent technical support and marketing effort.

This is not the first time the Sound Blaster AWE32 has won the MVP award from PC Computing. It also clinched the same award for the multimedia category in 1994.
PC Computing's Most Valuable Product Award is awarded by PC Computing's editors and lab experts who review hundreds of products in different hardware and software categories. The award is only presented to the absolute best, most innovative, most valuable products
The two most popular sites are Mathias C. Hjelt's AWE Page and the AWE32 Home Page maintained by Jesper Nordenberg and Johan Nilsson which receive up to 4,000 visitors a week. These sites contain excellent information about the Sound Blaster AWE32 and offer tips based on their own experiences.
Most of the AWE32 sites are maintained by teenagers who have become ardent users of the Sound Blaster AWE32. They have made a hobby out of offering information related to the card as well as its usage in the area of music.
"The presence of these are a testimony that there is a huge following who have come to appreciate the technology behind the Sound Blaster AWE32. It also signals the cards' acceptance by music enthusiasts and desktop musicians. For the customers, it means they enjoy added value because these sites offer valuable information and also offer goodies like SoundFont Banks files," said Hoi Chong, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Creative Technology.

There is no runner-up but Computerworld reported that the votes for Sim is more than double of that for the next runner-up.
SoundFont Collection Vol 1 Contains Guitar, Drums & Synth samples while Vol 2 includes traditional wind and keyboard samples. Both libraries contain 30 high quality samples and each sample is 512 size. This means that the libraries can be used by Sound Blaster AWE32, Sound Blaster AWE32 Value and Sound Blaster 32 (with added memory).
