Configuring Sound Cards Using CT1749/2502 Chips To Work In DOS/Win95

Problem

Unable to configure sound cards using CT1749/CT2502 chips to work in DOS (using CTCM) or Win95 environments with Award's Modular Bios V4.5G.

System
ARIS pentium 100 Intel PCISET SB82371FB Intel PCISET SB82437FX-66

Description

Under DOS, running DIAGNOSE /S at command line will return the error message :

Hardware does not exists at the I/O specified or

Blaster setting is invalid

Although CTCM says that the card is successfully configured at A2x0 Ix Dx Hx....

In Windows 95, an exclaimation mark appears beside the SB16 device and the error reported is "The device is not working properly or one of the drivers is missing". There's no resourses conflict reported.
The problem still exists after trying all other combinations of settings.

Solution:

In the CMOS's PNP and PCI setup option, set all the interrupts to use ICU.
e.g IRQ 3 used by ISA : NO/ICU ; the other option is "yes"
In DOS, Use ICM instead of CTCM to configure the sound card.
In Windows 95, load ICM driver (dwcfgmg.sys) in CONFIG.SYS for the sound card to work.

This problem only occurs on the above-mentioned Model.
