PhoneBlaster Cannot Hang Up In SuperVoice Or Fails To Connect To The Other
Party
Problem:
PhoneBlaster configured on COM 3 would hang up in SuperVoice. You may also
experienced the modem failing to connect to the remote party.
Cause:
This problem has been identified to occur with systems where the PhoneBlaster
has been installed together with a Diamond Stealth 64 VRAM (with S3 chipset)
SVGA card using generic S3 drivers included with Windows 95. However, if you
were to switch to use Diamond GT drivers or the default Windows 95 VGA driver
you would not experience any problems.
This is due AT systems are only executing 10-bit address decoding and this
causes one of the Stealth 64 register(X2E8H) to be mapped onto COM 4(02E8H).
Solution:
To resolve this problem, you would have to re-assign the PhoneBlaster to use
COM 1, 2 or 3. You may also obtained an updated VGA driver for your card from
your dealer or manufacturer.
