Problem With Playing MPEG Movies Under Windows 3.X

Some owners of the Video Blaster MP400 may experience slow playback of MPEG movies with choppy audio or even no video displayed when attemping to view MPEG movies in Windows 3.X environment. However, when playing back the same movies in DOS environment, the problem does not occur. The reason to this is due to an incompatibility between Microsoft Mouse driver version 9.0x and the Video Blaster software. This was caused by an addition of MOUSEVKD.386 driver in the [386Enh] section in SYSTEM.INI.

Solution:

This problem can be solved by editing the following statement in the SYSTEM.INI file:

[386Enh]
.......
keyboard.drv=C:\MOUSE\MOUSEVKD.386
.......

becomes

[386Enh]
.......
keyboard.drv=*vkd
.......
