Magenta Stripe Appears At The Left/Right Of The Screen When Running SE100DOS.EXE.
Problem:
A magenta stripe appears at the left/right of the screen when running
SE100DOS.EXE. This problem persists even though the user has executed
SE100SET.EXE to adjust and save the alignment correctly. The reason
is SE100DOS.EXE runs default at 640 x 480 in 256 colors mode; however,
the SE100SET.EXE program runs default at 640 x 480 in 16 colors mode.
This is caused by different methods of implementing the color scheme by
different VGA card vendors.
Solution
The problem can be resolved adding a "/G1" parameter to the command line
when executing SE100SET.EXE. For example:
SE100SET.EXE /G1
This will instruct the SE100SET program to make adjustment/alignment in 640 x
480 in 256 color mode. Make the necessary adjustment and alignment, save
the setting, exit the SE100SET program and execute SE100DOS.EXE. The
alignment should be correct this time.
Similarly, the user can type "SE100SET /?" to see a complete list of other
resolutions and color schemes supported by SE100SET in DOS mode.
