Problem Of Having Modem Blaster/Phone Blaster Negotiating With The Remote
Modem Forever After Establishing Connection
Problem:
When you attempt to connect to a remote modem, you can hear the modems
negotiating for connection endlessly but a connection is never achieved
Cause:
- This problem is caused by poor line conditions. Try making the call again
or calling a different number. Interference from other equipment on your line
such as alarm systems, fax machines, answering machines and other things that
use modems (such as Credit Card machines!) are suspect.
- It is also possible that the remote modem is incompatible with the Modem
Blaster/Phone Blaster.
Solution:
- To resolve the problem of poor line condition, unplug all equipment that
are connected in parallel to the line that is used by the modem.
- For the incompatibility problem, turn off Data Compression (Key
AT%C0 at any terminal program), dial again . If that does not work try
turning off error correction (Key in AT\N0), and try again. Otherwise
try forcing your modem to dial at a lower speed (For example, 9600 instead of
14400).
