Creative Unleashes the Power of the PC, Showcases the Total PC Entertainment Solution at E3

Creative Unveils Three New 3D Titles Including Battle Arena Toshinden

E3, Los Angeles -- May 15, 1996 -- Creative Labs, Inc., (NASDAQ:CREAF), the worldwide leader in consumer multimedia products for the personal computer, demonstrates the total PC entertainment solution in sight, sound and communications at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Creative will demonstrate its solutions that provide a more immersive experience for PC users including: 3D audio based on the Sound Blaster® AWE32 PnP, 3D graphics acceleration from the 3D Blaster™ line, high-speed communication and high-speed CD-ROM drive products. Creative will also be demonstrating three new titles optimized specifically for 3D Blaster: Playmate Interactive Entertainment's Battle Arena Toshinden™, and Gremlin Interactive's Fatal Racing™ and Actua Soccer™.

More than 40 million people own PCs and rely on them for both work and entertainment purposes. Creative's products are the tools needed to turn the PC into a high-end desktop entertainment center. For the latest in audio advancements, Sound Blaster AWE 32 is an advanced audio board supporting 3D positional audio and 3D stereo enhancement technology. The 3D Blaster line brings workstation-level graphics to the home PC with true three-dimensional texture mapped graphics. Creative's Internet solutions provide instant Internet access and games for telegaming, while a complete line of high-speed CD-ROM products provide consumers with the needed high-speed data access for a more complete and enriching multimedia experience.

3D Blaster

The 3D Blaster line brings the exciting visual realism of the workstation and the real-time interactivity of the arcade to the PC. Creative has garnered considerable support for its Creative Graphics Library (CGL), a development API made available to developers for the 3D Blaster line. To date, more than 200 developers have expressed their intent to support 3D Blaster including: Playmates Interactive Entertainment, EA/Bullfrog, Gremlin, Papyrus, Looking Glass, Psygnosis and others. Many of today's hottest 3D games take full advantage of the 3D Blaster line, including: Battle Arena Toshinden from Playmates Interactive Entertainment and Gremlin's Fatal Racing and Actua Soccer, three new titles being showcased at E3. 3D Blaster is currently available for VL-Bus PCs and the PCI version is planned for shipment this Summer.

Sound Blaster AWE 32 PnP

With an installed base of more than 20 million Sound Blaster audio products in use worldwide, Creative continues to provide industry standard solutions. Creative's Sound Blaster AWE 32 PnP is the first product in a series of audio cards to include Plug and Play capabilities and full compatibility with Windows '95. The AWE 32 PnP utilizes the EMU 8000 chip to provide real instrument sounds and effects. It also incorporates Creative's 3D Positional Audio and 3D Stereo Enhancement Technology for a rich, true-to-life sound.

Modem Blaster
