Installing Sound Cards in Windows NT 4.0
This is a very quick step-by-step guide for installing Creative sound
cards into Windows NT 4.0. You may wish to print this out so you can have
iton hand when you're installing. If you have difficulty, please contact your
nearest Creative tech support office.

Plug-and-Play cards
Sound drivers are included with NT 4.0. To install the drivers:
- Go to the Control Panel
- Select "Multimedia"
- Click on the "Devices" tab
- Click on "Add"
- Select "Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.x, Pro, 16"
- Insert the NT CD-ROM and restart when prompted
FOR AWE/SB32 OWNERS ONLY, DO THIS ALSO
- Download
AWENTPNP.EXE (736 K).
- Extract the file in any temporary directory by running it.
- Go back to Multimedia, Devices, in the Control Panel.
- Click "ADD" and select "Unlisted or Updated Driver".
- Browse to the directory where you extracted AWENTPNP.EXE and click "OK".
- Choose "Creative SB AWE32 Midi Synth" and click "OK". Restart when
prompted.
Basic Sound drivers are included with Windows NT 4.0. See the readme.txt
included with Windows NT in the directory \drvlib\audio\sbpnp of
your Windows NT CD-ROM.
For more complete functionality:
- Download
AWENTPNP.EXE (736 K).
- Extract the file in any temporary directory by running it.
- Open Control Panel.
- Click on "Multimedia".
- Select the "Devices" tab.
- Choose "Unlisted or Updated Driver" and click "OK".
- Browse to the directory where you extracted AWENTPNP.EXE and click "OK".
- Select "Creative Tech. SB16" and click "OK".
- Select "Restart Computer" when prompted.
FOR AWE/SB32 OWNERS ONLY, DO THIS ALSO
- Repeat steps 3 through 7.
- Select "Creative SB AWE32 Midi Synth" and click "OK".
- Select "Restart Computer" when prompted.
