Getting A Creative TV Coder External To Work On A Compaq Contura 4/25c
Notebook
Problem:
After loading VGA2PAL/VGA2NTSC, you would find it impossible to
navigate the screen(i.e. adjust left/right, up/down, interface, etc) while
in DOS on the Compaq notebook. However, the left/right navigation controls
work while in Window 3.1x environment.
Cause:
The Compaq Contura 4/25c supports 3 modes of display output - INTERNAL
, EXTERNAL and DUAL DISPLAY. By default, the INTERNAL
display is enabled on the notebook. If an external source (e.g. Monitor or
TVCOder) is connected, the DUAL DISPLAY option will be automatically
enabled as well. However, due to some incompatibility of the Compaq's VGA,
it would not work with the VGA2PAL/VGA2NTSC program.
Solution:
To get the VGA2PAL/VGA2NTSC program to work properly, set the display
output to EXTERNAL only. Please refer to your user manual to find out
how to do this.
