Sound Blaster Discovery CD 4x Plug and Play is expected to be available in September for an estimated street price of US$369.99, which includes 15 entertainment and educational titles. In addition to working with Windows 95, backwards compatibility with Windows 3.1 and DOS has been maintained.

Sound Blaster Discovery CD 4x will include a Sound Blaster 16 Plug and Play stereo 16-bit sound card, Sound Blaster software for both Windows 95 and Windows 3.1, and an internal quad-speed IDE CD-ROM drive, utility software and stereo speakers. For the complete multimedia experience, the kit also includes a full range of popular entertainment and educational titles.
Creative's quad-speed CD-ROM drive is an internal drive that includes and IDE interface for increased performance and a front-loading tray mechanism. The drive provides a 600KB / sec transfer rate, a 250ms access rate, and multi-session Photo CD compatibility. Completing the kit are Creative's high-performance stereo speakers.
