Pager Notification Not Received From MS Phone Upon Reception Of New
Messages
Problem:
After you enable the pager notification feature of Microsoft Phone,
you do not receive pager notification from Microsoft Phone upon
receiving new messages.
Cause:
- The pager notification feature of Microsoft Phone is not properly
enabled or configured.
- Your voice modem may not support the generation of DTMF codes during a
voice call.
Note: Microsoft Phone provides no indication of whether or not your
modem supports the generation of DTMF codes during a voice call.
Solution
To ensure that you have properly enabled and configured the pager
notification feature of Microsoft Phone, perform the following steps:
- Run Microsoft Phone.
- Click Options, select to Mailbox Settings, and then click the name of
the appropriate mailbox.
- From the Mailbox Settings dialog box, click the Notification tab,
and then click the "Notify me when new messages arrive" check box, so
that it is selected.
- In the Number field, enter your pager number.
- Click the Pager check box so that it is selected.
- In the Pager Message field, enter a message to be sent to the
pager when you receive new messages.
- Configure the "When To Notify Me" settings as desired.
- Click OK.
If you still do not receive pager notification when new messages
arrive, contact your voice modem's manufacturer to determine whether
your voice modem supports the generation of DTMF codes during a voice
call. Without this support, Microsoft Phone 1.0 is unable to
successfully perform pager notification.
