Installing Creative Audio Tools CD In Windows 95
- For DOS/Windows 3.x users who own the new version of Creative
Audio CD. There are two ways of installing Creative software in
Windows 95:
- Method 1 - Install software in Windows 95
- Upgrade Windows 3.x to Windows 95
- Launch Windows 95 and insert the Creative Audio CD into your
CDROM drive.
- An installation menu will be displayed on the screen.
- Click INSTALL from the installation menu and follow through
the installation instructions on the screen.
- Method 2 - Install software in DOS/Windows 3.x before upgrading
to Windows 95
- At the DOS prompt, change to the drive containing your CD-ROM,
for example, type D:.
- Change to the WIN31 directory, for example, type CD WIN31.
- Type INSTALL and press <Enter>.
- Follow through the installation instruction on the screen.
- Continue "Method 1 - Install software in Windows 95".
- For Creative users who have the earlier version of Creative's
software, (i.e. software developed to support only DOS/Windows 3.x but
not Windows 95) and are upgrading to Windows 95:
- Do not install the Creative software (i.e. do not run INSTALL)
from DOS session after upgraded to Windows 95.
- If you have done the above step, the sound drivers for Windows
95 will be overwritten. This fails to support sound properly in Windows
95. Please perform the following steps:
- remove the sound card device from the Device Manager
- select Add New Hardware from Control Panel
- allow Windows 95 to scan and detect the sound card and re-install
the necessary drivers for Windows 95.
