Windows 95 AutoPlay Feature For CD-ROM Not Working
The following are problems that you may encounter when installing
your audio card's software from CD-ROM.
Problem
The CD-ROM does not automatically run after you insert it into the drive.
Solution:
The AutoPlay notification setting in your Windows 95 system
may not be enabled.
To enable the AutoPlay feature, you may like to carry out the following
procedure:
- Enable the Auto Insert Notification check box. This check
box can be found in your CD-ROM drive properties sheet. To display
this sheet:
- a. Click the Start button.
- b. Select Settings and then Control Panel.
- c. Double-click the System icon.
- d. Click the Device Manager tab and select your CD-ROM drive.
- e. Choose Properties. The properties sheet for your drive appears.
- Alternatively, if you do not want to enable the Auto Insert
Notification check box, perform the following steps:
- a. Double-click the My Computer icon on your Windows 95 desktop.
- b. Using your right mouse button, click the icon representing
your CD-ROM drive. A pop-up menu appears.
- c. Select AutoPlay in the menu.
- d. Follow the instructions that appear.
