Creative Labs Launches ShareVision PC3000

- Desktop Video Communications for Under £1000, No ISDN Required -

14th February, 1995 - Creative Labs - the world leader in bringing multimedia functionality to personal computers, today launched ShareVision PC3000, a new desktop video communications product for the PC platform.

ShareVision offers screen-based video and telephone, an interactive on-line whiteboard, application sharing, file transfer and high quality image capture, all on a regular telephone line.

ShareVision PC3000, at an SRP of £999, includes an audio compression card, external fax/modem, ShareVision's application software, a colour video camera, a headset and Creative's VideoBlaster RT300 video capture and compression board.

The Difference with ShareVision
While other video communications products require ISDN, switched 56 or TI transmission lines, Creative's ShareVision products provide an inexpensive, readily available method of PC communication using regular telephone lines. By using programmable technology, ShareVision products fully upgradeable, enabling users to take advantage of emerging standards.

ShareVision is intended for large corporates wishing to save on their travel budgets, creative and marketing services agencies, teleworkers and any business looking to increase its productivity by improving the efficiency of group working practices.

How Will Businesses Use ShareVision ?
ShareVision's collaborative computing technology enables users to simultaneously collaborate on documents, even if the application software is installed on only one user's system. Both users can work in real-time on word processing documents, database management programmes, spreadsheets, presentations and whiteboards.

ShareVision's PC3000 video capabilities enable users to communicate in real-time through live colour video and audio, simulating a face-to-face meeting. Users can also capture from either party's camera for on-line editing or archiving of images.
