In order to assure the maximum performance from our video card and the proper installation of our card's drivers, we would recommend to our customers to be sure to remove any and all files, drivers, and registry entries from their previous video display adapter prior to installing our board.

Though the standard ways of removing drivers from the Windows environment will work most of the times, in some instances various files and registry entries are still left behind which could cause problems with the proper installation and usage of the Graphics Blaster RIVA TNT. The best way to properly insure the successful and complete removal of such files and registry entries would be of course to contact the manufacturer of your previous display adapter.

Alternatively, a look at your previous display adapter INF file (usually found in the WINDOWS\INF or WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory) could give you enough information on what files were installed and what registry entries were added.

With this information, you can with care and caution rename/delete the files that were added to your system and remove the various registry entries. As an extra precaution we would highly recommend that prior to ANY deletion or changes that you backup your registry files USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT.

Once all traces from the previous video board are removed, let Windows install the default "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)" drivers with our board, before proceeding to install our drivers.

As a reminder, as with all beta and release candidates, we cannot provide technical support.
