You should restart your computer immediately after you run the uninstall program. Notes, Problems, and Limitations -------------------------------- - The Rainbow Runner software installation program stops if you don't have a Rainbow Runner add-on card properly installed in your computer, or if recent MGA display drivers aren't installed. - Rainbow Runner software will not install if your computer did not assign an Interrupt (IRQ) to your Matrox graphics card. If you have this problem, see the Troubleshooting section of the Rainbow Runner Installation & User Guide. - To use the Matrox PC-VCR Remote program, use a 16-, 24- or 32-bit color palette. A 16-bit color palette is recommended. - For video editing programs (for example, Ulead Video Editor) to work properly, it's recommended you run them using a display area resolution of 1024x768 or lower. - For 2 MB graphics card users: Recording and playback of MJPEG compressed video files does not work at display area resolutions greater than 1024x768. - With the PC-VCR Remote program, using a full-screen DOS window or changing display settings (resolution or color palette) may cause problems if, at the same time, you're playing back or recording a video file, or using the Closed Captioning feature. - Suspend mode is not supported when using the Rainbow Runner software or when using any of the TV Out modes. - When you drag-and-drop video files onto the PC-VCR Remote icon, long file names are converted to the old 8.3 DOS-naming style in the PC-VCR Remote menu window and on video window title bar. - Capturing video to a file while outputting video to your TV may cause "jittering" in your computer monitor display if your video source (video input line or TV signal) is unstable. - MJPEG video editing is not supported while in TV Out mode (TV Out is enabled or disabled using the TV Out property sheet). - Video-in-a-window in NTSC, PAL & SECAM with PC-VCR Remote works using 16-, 24- and 32-bit color palettes. There are maximum video window sizes depending on the display settings you're using (see the Rainbow Runner Installation & User Guide). - Video output to TV works in both NTSC and PAL. Fit-to-screen and overscan modes are supported. The resolutions supported are 640x480, 720x480(NTSC), and 720x576(PAL). Also supported are DirectDraw and D3D games which use 640x400 and 640x480 resolutions, which includes all games included with Matrox Mystique. Using TV output, you can't run games in fit-to-screen mode. When outputting games to TV, overscan mode will be used by default. - If Microsoft Media Player does not respond, try clicking on the Windows desktop background, then clicking on Media Player - this may restore control. Rainbow Runner manual corrections and special notes =================================================== - Maximum video window resolutions for MPEG1 video file playback ---------------------------------------------------------------- The values in the table found at page 42 should be corrected as follows: 16-high color resolution of 1024 x 768 is not supported, nor is TrueColor 32-bit resolution of 800 x 600. Maximum window resolution for MPEG1 video file playback is 800 x 600 with a TrueColor 24-bit palette. - Disk space for captured video ------------------------------- The values in the table on page 43 are examples only. They are meant to help you calculate disk space requirements for various capture settings. Some combinations of settings may not be supported.
